Why is my car jerking when I accelerate?
Jerking or hesitating when you accelerate is usually a misfire (plugs or coils), a fuel-delivery problem (filter, pump or injectors), a dirty sensor, or a transmission issue. A scan narrows it down fast — a misfire and a gearbox fault feel similar, but a code reader tells them apart.

A worn plug or coil makes the engine stumble under load; usually trips the engine light.
