Why does my car battery keep dying?

If your battery keeps going flat, it's usually one of three things: the battery is simply worn out, the alternator isn't charging it, or something is draining it while the car's parked (a parasitic drain). Testing the battery, alternator and draw tells you which — so you replace the right part, not just the battery again.

The most common causes

1
Old or worn-out battery

Most batteries last 3–5 years in our heat; an old one won't hold charge. Tested and replaced on-site.

2
Alternator not charging

If the battery keeps dying after a fresh charge or a new battery, the alternator isn't keeping it topped up.

3
Parasitic drain

A light, module or accessory staying awake drains the battery overnight while parked.

4
Corroded or loose terminals

Corroded or loose battery terminals stop a proper charge and discharge.

5
Short trips or added accessories

Lots of short trips, or aftermarket accessories, can outpace the charging on an older battery.

Is it safe to drive? Not a safety issue — you're just risking getting stranded. We come to wherever the car is and test the battery, alternator and any drain, so you're not guessing.

Common questions

If a freshly charged or brand-new battery still goes flat, it's usually the alternator not charging. We test both so you only replace what's actually failed.

Something staying powered while the car's parked — a light, module or accessory — slowly flattening the battery overnight. We can measure the draw and trace it.
